The forged alloy steel head is case-hardened and tempered to achieve a striking face hardness of 30–35 HRC. This specialized tempering process allows the face to mushroom slightly upon impact, which prevents damage to workpieces especially valuable when working with softer or more delicate materials that a standard sledge hammer might break or deform.

The 36-inch fiberglass handle is double-injected for superior strength and resilience. A dual-textured rubber grip provides an ergonomic, non-slip hold—comfortable and secure whether used one- or two-handed. The handle also incorporates a vibration-dampening design that reduces operator fatigue during extended use.
